About IRIEAdults
IRIEAdults is the name given to a special dance project co-ordinated by IRIE! dance theatre that is specifically for adults. The project is about empowering adults who have a desire to dance but for one reason or another have not had the opportunity to do so.
It's designed to encourage participants to explore their own creativity and share ideas with other individuals and learn about Caribbean and Contemporary dance in a relaxed and fun environment.
The first 10-week IRIEAdults project finished at the end of March with the participants performing at IRIE! dance theatre's FLOW (Family Learning Open Weekend) event. The women thoroughly enjoyed the learning process and having this special opportunity to perform:
"I have always wanted to take part in a dance performance like this and I am happy that I got to experience my first performance with a special group…"
They also expressed their desire to continue the program. And so IRIEAdults will resume for another 10 weeks on 20 April 2010. You can click the link opposite for full details and to book your place on this new IRIEAdults program.
IRIE! dance theatre would like to thank the The People's Postcode Trust for funding the initial 10-week pilot project which was led by dance teacher, chorographer and performance poet, Sheba Montserrat.
